The Ann Arbor Academy Lower School was founded in Fall 2004 and accepts students in grades three through six. The program is individualized for each student and this, within the context of a highly enriched classroom environment, has built a community of engaged learners. The Lower School is committed to building strong social momentum for learning and to fostering the work ethic that is important for success both in and out of school.
Communication with parents is important to the health of the Lower School. Parents receive weekly e-mails and are invited to monthly meetings with the Head of School. Conferences are scheduled twice a year, but parents can schedule extra meetings as appropriate. Student work is displayed on a continual basis in the Lower School as a way to celebrate student creativity, talent, and daily growth. The lower school depends on strong parent support to actualize its mission of having children experience the many benefits of success in school.
