Position: Upper School Reading Teacher
I teach middle and high school Academy students with reading and writing challenges. I also tutor elementary through high school students with the same challenges. I am trained in the F.A.S.T. Reading and Lindamood-Bell programs. Both are multi-sensory phonics programs which specialize in decoding and comprehension strategies. For students with reading challenges such as dyslexia, hyperlexia, and non-verbal learning disorders, one program is never the answer; I tweak lesson plans to match individual strengths. I learned how to cook at Oberlin College. My hobbies include writing fiction, creating stain glass art, and hiking with family.
