Position: Upper School Science Teacher
I grew up many years ago in Australia, and would love to go back often, if only the flight wasn't so long. I love math and technology, and have degrees in both Computer Science and Aeronautical Engineering. Here in the U.S. I worked as a technical specialist at Ford for years before leaving to homeschool my son. We discovered the Academy when he decided to attend high school, and found that public school was not a good fit.
He graduated in 2020, and I spent the 2020-21 school year volunteering as in-classroom help, so I'm quite familiar with the school. The past few years I've taught homeschool and after school classes around Ann Arbor, and summer camps at a number of area schools. This year I'm looking forward to teaching science at the Academy with the wonderful students and staff.
I live in an old farmhouse in Tecumseh with my husband, a great many animals, and a really big garden. I like cups of tea, cats, reading, and movies, particularly anything Marvel or science fiction.
