Position: Learning Disabilities Director, Upper School History Teacher
I've taught at the Academy for over 20 years and have always taught History but I have also taught Literature and a variety of humanities electives. I have a Masters in Education in Learning Disabilities and I attend most of the service plans to advocate for and coordinate all the services provided by the Ann Arbor public schools like speech therapy and social work.
I am a great lover of bikes, boats, and books. I maintain a private library in my classroom and often lend out books to interested students.
I am also a great believer in multi sensory education and as such I often provide students with opportunities to present what they have learned through the class work or independent research in ways other than simple tests or essays. This can include art projects, longer essays, and things students might choose like digital presentations or music.
